Mayumi Inoue sensei, Kyoshi 7th Dan has been Setsuko Kobayashi sensei’s student since 1994 and has also become her teaching partner. After her first attendance at a session by Kobayashi sensei, she determined to pursue the Kobayashi style of kendo. This was when she was 5th Dan.....

Kodokan Kendo UK 'The Premier Centre for Excellence' is located in Watford Hertfordshire at Rembrandt House and is a ' Twenty - Four Seven' custom built Dojo. The club was founded in 1980 by Paul Budden, Kyoshi Nanadan (7th Dan) a registered NAKMAS Senior Instructor, Technical Director of the Maltese Kendo Federation and a highly respected International Coach.
The Club Leader is Kazuyo Matsuda, Renshi Rokudan (6th Dan), a Former Great Britain National Ladies Team Coach.
Kodokan is (when he is in the UK) the resident dojo of Jumpei Matsumoto, Kyoshi Nanadan (7th Dan), Former Chief National Coach for the British Kendo Association.
At Kodokan we have both a very strong ladies section and junior group.

Kodokan are also the organisers of many prestigious events, including 'The Kodokan International Kendo Seminar' led by Masatake Sumi sensei - Hanshi Hachidan (8th Dan), the 'First and Foremost' teacher in the Kendo world today. This is held at Kodokan's seminar venue the Princess Marina Sports Complex in Rickmansworth Hertfordshire and every other year at Koseibukan in Malta
Kendo can be practiced safely by all ages and provides many benefits for those who train in this unique activity.
As we know it's always good to start a sport or an activity at an early age, however you can rest assured that it's never too late to begin Kendo
